Should marriage contracts be renewable?

There have been a number of news reports recently discussing whether marriage contracts should have renewable terms.  See, for instance, Matt Richel’s New York Times article. “Till Death, or 20 Years, Do Us Part”.  What do you think the effect of having, say, a five year renewable contract on your marriage. Is this like having a prenuptial agreement, which is generally seen as an easy “out”?  Your comments are invited.
