Quick words of financial advice from mediator Cinda Jones

By MaritalMediation Staff on November 5, 2010

We asked Cinda Jones to sum up the best financial advice for a married couple. Her answers are in the video below.

What is the best financial advice that you could give to a couple?

That would be to continue to talk to each other and to have a regular board meeting, if you will.
If they were engaged in a business, important financial matters,  they would have a sit-down meeting, they would have a report to one another, they would have a status interview with each other.

Maybe that's a bit formal in the terminology of it, but if people will put it on their calendar and make a commitment to do that on a regular basis,  it takes the opportunity for misunderstandings - it reduces the likelihood of misunderstandings,  because if people could have clarity.

If one person pushes back from that, doesn't want to be candid, or doesn't want to participate in a plan, then that's an indicator that there's a problem.
